Super WHY's Comic Book Adventures Sensory-Friendly Screening

Be among the first to watch PBS KIDS' new program, Super WHY's Comic Book Adventures! Join us at Iowa PBS on Saturday, October 3 at 9 a.m. at Iowa PBS for a special sensory-friendly screening. This relaxed environment is designed for children who may benefit from a more low-key atmosphere. The volume will be softer, the lights dimmed and audience movement is welcome. This screening will offer all the fun of the show with a few thoughtful adjustments, including a more limited capacity.

To ensure we can provide the best experience for those who need it, we kindly ask that you only reserve spots for this screening if these accommodations are necessary for you or your family. If you don't require sensory-friendly modifications, we invite you to join us at our 10:30 a.m. screening.

At the event, families will grab a snack and drink before heading into the theater to watch two advance episodes on the big screen. After the screening, children will have the opportunity to participate in an activity from the Iowa PBS Education team.

This new animated series builds on the legacy and success of the beloved Emmy-nominated SuperWHY! series and Super WHY's Comic Book Adventures shorts. The program will empower preschoolers and kindergartners by supporting early literacy skills through exciting 7-minute stories that launch them into a colorful comic book universe where every interactive story adventure brings reading to life.

Super WHY's Comic Book Adventures follows the Super Readers – Super Why, Wonder Red, Princess Presto, Alpha Pig, and newest reading hero, Power Paige – on out-of-this-world adventures as they use their own unique literacy powers and gadgets to protect Reader Valley from a group of silly Super Villains – with help from the viewer, “Super You.”
